"Baby Assassins" is a low-fi Japanese slacker buddy comedy that cleverly intertwines the mundane with the extraordinary. Centered on two high school girls who moonlight as highly skilled assassins, the film requires them to juggle ‘normal’ jobs and coexist as roommates despite their mutual dislike. The plot takes an intense turn following a dangerous entanglement with the Yakuza. While "Baby Assassins" features only a handful of action scenes, these moments are incredibly physical and inventive, favoring raw choreography over digital effects. The film excels in delivering a unique blend of humor and high-octane thrills without relying on major stars.
